The St. Regis San Francisco Hotel

 SoMa, San Francisco

Pros

    • Built-in 2006 and impeccable, with an impressive collection of contemporary art
    • Centralized location, close to SoMaUnion Square, and Financial District
    • Close to museums
    • 24/7 butler service (suite rooms only)
    • The free 24-hour pool at the Remede Spa; other facilities charge per day
  • Ame Restaurant starred in the Michelin Guide

Cons

  • Fee for Wi-Fi
  • Location in SoMa lacks prestige – and high views – of its competitors in the Nob Hill

Conclusion

Built-in 2005, St. Regis offers the best in luxury: rooms with great beds and bathrooms, 24-hour butler service (for suite rooms only), Michelin-starred Ame restaurant, and Remede Spa pool. Its proximity to SoMa, with a great deal of business, and its modern building, lack the historical grandeur of the great ladies of Nob Hill. Still, on the other hand, it offers fierce competition to its competitors.
